This is an “analog Not analog” only visualization. The primary generator draws single digits, controlled by a random number function. When a digit pops up a message is send to SuperCollider starting a prerecorded sound sample.
There are 5 more filters in this signal chain. They provide diffusing, differencing, and mixing visual signals. And there is although a rudimentary internal feedback loop, works like temporal damping of the visual signal.
